Memberships & Affiliations
- Cosylab is the co-founder of the Centre of excellence for Biosensors, Instrumentation and Process Control COBIK (COBIK), which is funded by the Slovenian government and EU structural funds. Centre of Excellence for Biosensors, Instrumentation and Process Control, established in 2009, is a private found research institution that employs almost 90 highly qualified researchers from the most challenging and promising fields, such as bio-chemistry, bio-instrumentation, optics and advanced new cleaning processes in pharmacy. The centre consists of six laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and currently runs 20 research projects.
The focus of the centre is to create cutting-edge solutions and implement them both, into partners` industrial processes or upgrade them through new partnership. This focus results in a broad, world-wide network. - Cosylab is a member of Slovenia's ICT technology network. In 2007/08, a member of Cosylab's staff was a delegate in the international electric systems association CIGRE.
- Cosylab has experience with working on projects of the European Commission's Framework Programme. From 2004 to 2008, Cosylab participated on the EU’s 6th framework project Dependable Distributed Systems (DeDiSys). Other partners in the consortium were Vienna University of Technology (Vienna, Austria), Wroclav University of Technology (Wroclaw, Poland), Linköpings Universitet (Linköping, Sweden), Universidad Politecnica de Valencia (Valencia, Spain), Frequentis (Austria), Etra (Spain) in XLAB (Slovenia). In the project, Cosylab led two work-packages.
- From 2006 through 2008, Cosylab participated in project Service Enabling Infrastructures (SEI), in a consortium of 8 Slovenian companies (Iskratel, Alpineon, Medius, MG-SOFT, Perftech, Rap-Ing, SRC.SI) and Faculty of electronics of University of Ljubljana. Project was co-founded by the European Regional Development Fund. Joint-development project SEI (Service Enabling Infrastructure) in the consortia with numerous Slovenian IT companies under the umbrella of Iskratel and with the support of Slovenian Ministry of the Economy where Cosylab participation was within the development of scalable and high-performance application server for web based tele-information application services.
