ORNL - SNS
Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Cosylab developed software and provided support for ORNL-SNS. The development work focussed on connecting the operational software with the core control system, and included such as implementation changes and upgrade of CSS, EDM to XML generic file converter and LabView RT drivers for the BLM system. Integration and support (on-site and remote) were also provided. Cosylab supplied the Cosy Project Management suite for SNS.
Additional work focussed on hardware development, integration and support. A Cosylab employee spent 6 months working on-site on the SNS/RAD development projects, and then a further 5 months working remotely. Work included FPGA development (LEBT and MEBT chopper controller upgrade, upgrading SNS timing master controller), requirements gathering and architecture planning (upgrading SNS timing master controller), and consultancy with development procedures (project documentation with HW development tools and versioning).
